My Story Began...

I was sad, didn't know what chances are left to me in life, not leaving behind me footprints anymore; I reached to the point where every smell, every taste and every colour seemed to be the same.

Before a day I looked above praying for some kind of stroke to hit my life, anything would be good, it doesn't matter, but I didn't know what to ask for as if I was ignorant of my own language.

Then suddenly, I received a phone call: "Kian, would you go for a nine months period to Romania with the EVS, to work with youngsters in the penitentiary?", with silence, through the phone I nodded with approval, I was speechless.

I booked my ticket. On the plane I had strange feelings I couldn't describe those passing by moments. I arrived on Saturday 3rd of May, and thought to myself: "This projects' title refers to me not only the youngsters at the penitentiary, this is a second chance for both of us".

At the office on Monday, I met the management also the other volunteers, they were all warm-hearted and welcomed me that I didn't feel I am new member; they accepted me at the spot! I was very grateful…

Then I met the youngsters at Juvenile Penitentiary, I became immediately friends with them. Even that the language to most can be a barrier, but in our case we sang karaoke me in their language and them in my language and we laughed!!

Yes, my prayer for that stroke came right away hitting my heart! When I was falling and feeling I am an ID (number) only, that project came to rescue my despair and to offer me a Second Chance!!
